One off Art Pieces

I have always found it important that a one of one actually be a one of one.  Many will argue that they are hand-made, so they will all be slightly different and therefore all original, but I do not agree.

I do change the colour sometimes;  but if I make two or more the same that has to be production.

These are some of our “one of one” pieces, past and present.

  • A flat black merletto blown core flanked with two large blue corkscrew zanfirico canes.  A one of one. A similar black merletto "Lyra" with black and red zanfirico canes was displayed at the Saatchi Gallery during "Collect" 2017. This is in our ARCHIVE.

  • A large murine center cane of "Girl" followed by a gold leaf incalmo sections, a white filigree corkscrew torsade, a flashed purple incalmo, a fine black vetro a fili incalmo, and a clear incalmo edged with a fine black rim. The foot is also of fine black vetro a fili edged with black from 2018. This is in our ARCHIVE.

  • A large murine center cane of "Girl" followed by a gold leaf incalmo sections, a white filigree corkscrew torsade, a flashed purple incalmo, a fine black vetro a fili incalmo, and a clear incalmo edged with a fine black rim.   • A flatter-footed bowl tazza, as above in blue with latticinio and blue rose murine centre. 2018. This is now SOLD.

  • "Swirly" spaced triangular murine between latticinio and vetro a fili rondels, on a vetro a fili and latticinio incalmo section. This is in our ARCHIVE.

  • Similar but different vessels made on the same day, had to name them thus. This is now SOLD.

  • A large reverse parison plate formed from vetro a fili, and flashed colour incalmo sections with latticinio and applied colour. This is now SOLD.

  • Reverse axis/parison technique. This is in our ARCHIVE.

  • "Graal" Tiger Moth wings with black incalmo top.

  • Triangular murine surrounding black and white zanfirico rondels. This is now SOLD.

  • Three images of "Graal" piece taken from Mike's "Lascaux" series. Shows a saber-tooth tiger being attacked by two hunters. This is in our ARCHIVE.

  • One of three "Geisha" plates made. Four overlay colours were used to make the plate. This is now SOLD.

  • "Cameo" from an original drawing by my daughter, in black and white. This is now SOLD.

  • Blown vessel made from transparent murine and latticinio rondels. This is now SOLD.

  • Another experiment, this time using tesserae sections, combined with filigree rings (torsade) and vetro a fili. Circa 2002. This is now SOLD.
